5-Day Drg-Drsya-Viveka Residential Retreat: Inquiry Into the Nature of Seer and Seen
Through insightful inquiry, the Drk-drsya-viveka text reveals how we mistake the changing world of objects for the unchanging truth of existence, Brahman. When we discern the difference between the seer (drk) and the seen (drsya), our understanding opens into clarity. The book is rigorous in it’s analysis into nature of “I”. We will explore:
- The Three Seers: Explore the seer-seen relationships on the levels of the senses, mind, and pure witness consciousness.
- The Relationship Between Consciousness, Mind, and Senses: Learn how consciousness is reflected in the intellect and brings sentience to the body.
- The Three States of Waking, Dreaming, Deep Sleep: Investigate the “I” sense across states and the functioning of each state.
- The Cause of Suffering and the Power of Maya: Discover how ignorance veils our true nature and projects the illusion of separateness.
- Meditation Techniques: Practice varied methods of inquiry and absorption into the Self using internal and external focal points.
- The Nature of the Liberated Sage: Understand the state of the jivanmukta who sees reality rightly.
- The Three Types of Selves: Explore the paramarthika-jiva, vyavaharika-jiva and pratibhasika-jiva.
This 5-day residential retreat will be held at Thonse Health Centre in Karnataka, India – led by Vedic and Sanskrit teacher Andre Vas. You will be systematically guided through the 46 verses so your vision is aligned with the vision of the book.
Teachings are based on Swami Paramarthananda and Swami Tejomayananda's Drg-Drsya-Viveka book which you can get on Amazon.
We will have 3 sessions per day (morning/afternoon/evening) to help integrate the wisdom deeper amidst like-minded friends.
